How kino-roulette.com processes data, for how long, and how to have it erased.
1. Access by code, without registration
A list is held in a pool that a code opens. The code itself is not stored: the database holds only its irreversible transformation, against which a presented code is checked. The pool holds the titles of the list, the watched marks, the history of spins and the record of completed list loads. No information identifying the holder of a pool is requested.
2. What an account holds
An account holds the email address and password given at registration. The pools created under it belong to the account together with everything in them. No other information about the user is collected.
3. Connecting a tracking service
Where an external tracking service is connected, the access keys it issues are retained, being required to address it on the user’s behalf. The keys are retained as issued, because they are presented to the service on every request. Access may be revoked in the settings of the service concerned.
4. Purposes of processing
Data is processed only so far as the requested action requires: loading the list, picking a title, recording watched marks, and keeping the user signed in between visits. Data is not sold, is not disclosed for advertising purposes, and is not used to profile the user.
5. Disclosure to third parties
To identify titles and obtain artwork, requests are sent to open film databases and to the service the list is loaded from. Such requests carry information about the title and carry no information about the user. A connected tracking service receives the data whose transfer the user initiated, and only while the connection is in force. Mail is delivered through a mail server. Error reports are sent to an external error-collection service and stored within the EU. Visits are counted by the site’s own means on its own server, without cookies and without collecting anything by which a visitor could be identified.
6. Retention periods
A pool not tied to an account is deleted 12 months after it was last used. Records of completed list loads are retained for 30 days. A session remains in force for 90 days or until the user signs out. A pool tied to an account is retained until the user deletes it. Deleting an account deletes the pools belonging to it with everything in them. Information about titles in the site’s common catalogue does not relate to any user and is retained.
7. Cookies
Only the cookie that keeps the user signed in is used. The access code is not stored in the browser: it is kept by the user. The chosen theme and language are stored by the browser itself and are not transmitted to the server. Advertising and tracking cookies are not used, and consent to them is therefore not requested.
8. Rights of the user
The user is entitled to obtain information about the data processed, to demand its correction or erasure, to request a copy, and to object to the processing. A pool may be deleted on the site, and an account together with its pools likewise. Other requests are to be addressed to hello@kino-roulette.com. The user is further entitled to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of their place of residence.
